Green light for Ealing’s £136m Green Man

Ealing Council yesterday granted planning permission for the £136m regeneration of the run-down Green Man Lane estate.

Under the plans 706 apartments will be developed to replace 464 flats currently on the estate.

The apartments will be a mixture of affordable rented, shared ownership and private.

The scheme is being developed by the Green Man Lane regeneration team comprising Rydon as developer, social housing provider A2Dominion and architect Conran & Partners.

Demolition will start in early 2011 to make way for the first phase of regeneration comprising 154 apartments in two blocks, eight and three storeys high, and a community café.

A2Dominion has been awarded grant funding of just over £13 million by the Homes & Communities Agency towards the building of the affordable homes for the first phase of the regeneration of Green Man Lane.
