Scots police move into £18m Dundee One office
MSP John Swinney visited the new £18m Dundee One site yesterday, part of which will be the new HQ for the Scottish Police Services Authority.
The authority will occupy the 50,000 sq ft City Court building on the Dundee waterfront, which is one half of Unicorn Property Group’s 100,000 sq ft Dundee One development. The other half is an office building called River Court which was opened yesterday by Swinney. The SPSA has signed a 35-year lease and is paying a rent of £17/sq ft.
City Court has been purpose built to accommodate the authority’s DNA database, science laboratories, and fingerprint and scene examination units. The SPSA are in the process of occupying the building in the run up to its official opening on 7 June by Scottish cabinet secretary for justice Kenny McGaskill.
At the Dundee One development’s opening ceremony yesterday, Swinney said: “The Dundee One development addresses a shortage of high quality city centre office space, and contributes significantly to the regeneration of the waterfront.
“It therefore plays an important role in helping the city to realise its ambitions and achieve important economic growth.”
