Drivers Jonas Deloitte has been appointed to project manage the refurbishment of the Imperial War Museum in London by 2014.

The Imperial War Museum, based in the London Borough of Lambeth, appointed DJD to project manage and architect Foster & Partners as architect for a masterplan for the museum within the footprint of the existing building. The aim is to enhance the internal spaces in the museum, and provide new galleries and services for visitors.

“Our aim is to put audiences at the heart of everything this museum does, and we’re confident our new masterplanning partners will help us deliver this,” said Diane Lees, director-general of the museum.

The museum is set to launch a fundraising appeal to support the project, which it wants to be completed by 2014, the centenary of the start of World War I.
