Capita Symonds has appointed Clifford Martin as head of its architecture division, Capita Architecture.

Martin, who joined the company in 2004, already leads Capita Architecture’s defence sector team.

In that role, he has been involved in bidding for and delivering PFI projects, such as the Defence Academy UK, South East Regional Prime Contract, and as part of the Metrix Consortium which is currently Preferred Bidder for the Defence Training College PFI project at St Athan.

Martin said: “The strength of Capita Architecture is predicated on design quality and robust financial management and its talented people will continue to deliver superb buildings in the future and to grow and develop the business.

“We’re already building on the success of 2009 which saw a number of high profile projects reaching fruition such as the BBC Hoddinott Hall, the second phase of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff; and the Nanoscience and Quantum Information Building at University of Bristol which was dubbed ‘the quietest building in the world’.”
