Developers sought for Southampton pier
Southampton City Council has launched a search for developers for the Royal Pier Waterfront in the city.
Expressions of interest to develop a major mixed-use scheme on the site have been invited by Southampton City Council. Proposals must include a permanent site for Southampton’s boat show, improvements to Mayflower Park and better access to the waterfront.
The 24-hectare site is owned by the council, the Crown Estate and Associated British Ports.
Councillor Royston Smith, cabinet member for economic development at Southampton City Council, said: “Royal Pier Waterfront is a unique opportunity for prospective development partners, not only to become part of one of the most dynamic cities emerging in Europe, but also to create a legacy in Southampton for which they can be truly proud.”
