Bradford Council to open garden on Westfield site
A temporary green space for arts and events is due to open in Bradford tomorrow on the site of the proposed Westfield shopping centre.
Bradford Council took over a quarter of the stalled £320m Westfield shopping centre development site earlier this year to create the garden (design pictured).
The 10-acre site forms part of a government campaign to bring halted development sites into public use. Public Property UK sister title Property Week has been campaigning for such stalled sites to be brought back into use under its campaign Site Life.
Walkways, green spaces and lighting have been installed prior to the hoardings being removed tomorrow to allow public access.
