The national secretariat of UK regional development agencies has revealed a list of more than 500 RDA assets that are due to be sold by Communities and Local Government.

Assets up for sale include science parks, brownfield land and a greyhound stadium in Portsmouth. This document lists all the addresses of assets held by RDAs at 30 Septmber 2010, which are set to be disposed of by the department with help from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Speaking last month at the Public Property Summit, HCA chief executive Pat Ritchie (pictured) said the agency would help to package up the assets to make them attractive to developers.

She said: “We will be taking forward RDA land assets and looking at ways they can be localised and packaged together alongside liabilities.

“RDA land will remain owned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, but we’ll have a role alongside it to develop out those assets.”
