Drivers Jonas Deloitte appointed to manage temporary 2012 venues
Drivers Jonas Deloitte has been appointed project manager for four London 2012 temporary venues.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has appointed Drivers Jonas Deloitte to manage Greenwich Park, the equestrian events and modern pentathlon venue, Horses Guards Parade where beach volleyball will be hosted, The Mall, which will be the start and finish for the marathon, and Hyde Park, which will play host to the triathlon and marathon swimming.
The project team will be headed by Stephen Jepson, director in the sport team at Drivers Jonas Deloitte.
He said: “These venues have a significant historic prominence in London and it’s our job to create first class sporting facilities to showcase to the world. These venues are a huge logistical operation with no room for error.
“Take the Beach Volleyball for example; we’ll be creating a temporary arena in the heart of Whitehall for 15,000 spectators, including sand brought in to create London’s very own beach, and it will be constructed inside six weeks following Trooping the Colour.”
