Barton Willmore to set up in Ebbsfleet

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore is relocating its Kent office from West Malling to Ebbsfleet after its office lease came up for its three-year review.
The move, which takes place next Monday, will relocate the team of 20 planners and support personnel into Thames Gateway. The move is meant to take advantage of forthcoming regeneration projects in the area linked to the new High Speed One train line.
Huw Edwards, a partner in Barton Willmore’s new Ebbsfleet office, said the move will reflect the movements of the firm’s own client base.

De Burghe joins Barton Willmore

Planning consultant Barton Willmore has appointed Camilla De Burghe as an urban designer in its Bristol office.
She joined Barton Willmore on work experience in September 2009 working on residential and mixed use projects. She works on schemes in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, developing planning applications and masterplans to inform representations to local development frameworks.

What it is: On 29 December 2009, the government published its revised Plannning Policy Statement 4 on town centre planning. PPS4 introduces new tests for planners and removes existing tests. Planning consultant Barton Willmore has published two briefings on the policy.
